A great deli with tons of homemade daily choices for salads, desserts, soups, sides and sandwich components. The breads are also made fresh daily. Plus, you can buy their salad dressing, marinara sauce and other delicacies in pre-packaged containers to go for home. Service is great and servings are huge. This chain is as good as a stand-alone Mom & Pop place because that's how they started out and they haven't changed what made them famous even when they grew and franchised. As a NYC gal who grew up knowing what a good authentic Italian deli is, I know quality when I see it...and for a chain, this is the tops. MY FAVORITE DELI IN CT IS NARDELLI'S!!
Ordered a turkey sandwich and the person got tuna one of my breads and some marinara sauce on the other. Was only supposed to be a turkey sandwich with lettuce tomato mayo...
When my friend wanted to go here I was reluctant. I've had many sub sandwiches and they can be rather generic at times. However this was not the case at Nardelli. I tried the Italian and the meat was top quality. I would recommend the hot sauce even if you are not a fan of spicy food. It's a milder heat and adds great flavor, not just a burned mouth. In addition I tried the stuffed banana peppers. These are soaking in an olive oil so it almost tasted more like a stuffed olive with banana pepper seasoning. I've never had anything like these and I'm now the one wanting to go even more than my friend. Definitely going to take a pound or two of these home with me.
Just like my review of the other Nardellis near me, this place is wonderful, well worth the title of Best Grinder in CT. Try one every chance you get, I've tried multiple sandwiches here and I've never been disappointed! Coming from Ohio, I suggest the Buckeyes for dessert, they're a little taste of my home state that are as well done as any I've had the pleasure of trying before! Either homemade or store bought!
